The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm F/2.8 zoom lens is the first in a line of Olympus “PRO” lenses for Micro Four-Thirds and is designed to match the pro quality of the OM-D E-M1. The lens has a 30 to 84 degree wide to portrait zoom range with a minimum focus distance of 20cm (7.87”) throughout the range. This lens features exceptional auto focus speed and the linear motor drive provides smooth and quiet focusing for movies and stills. In addition the 12-40mm F/2.8 zoom also has excellent drip, dust and freeze proofing for harsh environments like open boats and sandy beaches. At a constant F/2.8 maximum aperture low light performance and shallow depth of field is well controlled throughout the range.
