I remember when I first started diving and I was obsessed with sharks. I would travel to some amazing locations to try and find them only to get a distant glimpse of a tiny silhouette way out into the blue. But that was exciting – I got to see a shark! After a while, I got fed up with not having the close-up and personal encounter I wanted. I knew by spending most of my dive hanging out in the blue I was missing out on other great experiences and vowed to myself that I would never go to a destination just looking for large animals such as sharks, dolphins or whales. Instead, I would make sure I enjoyed all that the underwater world has to offer and that’s also when I took up photography.
