I was on the second dive of the morning in Grand Cayman last May and hadn’t come up with much of interest to photograph, other than the usual suspects: squirrelfish, gobies, Christmas tree worms, and similar subjects that one sees on most every dive. The other divers were headed back to the boat and I had just started my ascent when I noticed a flurry of activity below me. A coney, whose eyes were obviously bigger than its stomach, was headed under a ledge with a terrified blue tang in its jaws. I swam back down and was just able to get this shot before the coney, startled by me and my camera, opened its mouth, and its intended lunch zoomed away. One tang saved to live another …
