The Sony Alpha A7 II is the fourth in the lineup of Sony full frame mirrorless cameras and the first to include sensor based in-body image- stabilization. The Sony A7 & A7r released in early 2013 were the first mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras to feature a full-frame sensor in a mirrorless package the size of the current Olympus E-M1 & E-M5 II mirrorless cameras. Sony has made it quite clear that they intend to challenge Canon and Nikon in the pro and pro-summer markets by focusing heavily on their full-frame line of cameras.
